The Framework Simulation
The Big Picture simulation is a web-based software tool based on The Big Picture framework, and created to build interactive business case studies. The tool is used by our clients to capture the complexity of the strategic issues they face, improving their decision-making. We also use the tool to illustrate strategic marketing issues and concepts in an MBA and executive training setting.
Simulation users can:
- Define a specific business problem faced by the firm, and a set of investment initiatives that may be used to address it.
- Enter information about competitors, including market share and positioning, as well as relative strengths. Users make specific assumptions about competitive strategy; these assumptions drive how the simulated competitors will respond to the firm’s activities.
- Enter information about the market including market size, growth rates and the attributes that drive market changes.
- Model customer preferences and behaviors by group
The simulation generates results showing how specific investments result in customer attitudes and behaviors and how those then can affect firm performance and market growth.
There are a number of simulated cases already created which are available to instructors of the framework and corporate clients. For a complete listing of cases, including descriptions, please contact us.
